hitney Kittrell of St. Cloud, Utah, is a single mother who makes sure her son doesn’t miss out on anything because his father isn’t in the picture.
When her son returned home from school with a flier about a father-son school event called “Dad’s and Donuts,” he assumed he wouldn’t be able to participate. But Whitney had other plans.
She donned a tracksuit, t-shirt, and even a fake goatee to attend the event with her son. She was concerned, but Whitney’s son was ecstatic to have his mother by his side. In a Facebook post about the experience, Whitney wrote: “I was terrified but I couldn’t help myself from giggling when he introduced me to his little pals by saying, ‘This is my mom… she’s also my dad,’ so I brought her!” I’ve done everything possible to let them know they are loved; however, I’m not sure if I’m actually succeeding at it.
“My mom went up to see if we were together and my dad hugged me around the neck, whispered ‘Mom… I know you’ll always be there for me. Thank you.’ He kissed my cheek and ran off. I hope he remembers this day because I’ll never forget it or his kind words.”
